Right-hand hood hinge assembly (without spring) designed for 1963–1967 GM cars. This replacement hinge secures, aligns and supports the hood’s pivot point for correct fitment and smooth operation. Built from robust stamped steel with corrosion-resistant finish, it restores original hinge geometry to eliminate misalignment, reduce wind vibration, and make hood opening/closing reliable. Ideal for restoration projects or replacing worn or damaged factory hinges, the part is durable, easy to install, and engineered to return factory-style function and appearance.
Features:
  • Fits 1963-1967 GM cars — right-hand (passenger side) hood hinge, no spring included.
  • Stamped steel construction with corrosion-resistant coating for long-lasting durability.
  • Restores factory hinge geometry to correct hood alignment and reduce rattles.
  • Designed as a direct-fit replacement for restoration or routine maintenance.
  • Simple bolt-on installation; no specialty fabrication required.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Suggested Tools:
  • Socket set and ratchet (metric & SAE as needed)
  • Wrenches
  • Torque wrench
  • Screwdriver or trim tool
  • Penetrating oil (if removing rusted fasteners)
  • Masking tape and marker (for alignment marks)
  • Helper (for holding hood during removal/installation)
Instructions:
  1. Park vehicle on level ground, engage parking brake, and disconnect the battery if desired for safety.
  2. Support the hood securely with a prop rod or have an assistant hold it open; place masking tape along hood and fender edges to protect paint.
  3. Mark the existing hinge location on the hood and inner fender with a marker or tape to record alignment prior to removal.
  4. Apply penetrating oil to hinge fasteners if needed. Remove bolts securing the hood-to-hinge connection first, then unbolt the hinge from the fender or hinge mount.
  5. Remove the old hinge assembly and compare to the new part to confirm fit and orientation.
  6. Position the new hinge on the fender mounting points and loosely install mounting bolts so the hinge can still be adjusted.
  7. Reconnect the hood to the hinge, again leaving bolts loose. Close the hood gently to check alignment, then reopen and make incremental adjustments until the gaps and latch engagement are correct.
  8. Once aligned, tighten all hinge and hood fasteners to manufacturer-recommended torque values using a torque wrench.
  9. Cycle the hood open and closed several times to confirm smooth operation and correct latch engagement. Re-adjust if necessary.
  10. Remove protective tape, dispose of old parts properly, and perform a final inspection for secure fastening and paint protection.
