Instructions:
- Park vehicle on level ground, engage parking brake, and disconnect the battery if desired for safety.
- Support the hood securely with a prop rod or have an assistant hold it open; place masking tape along hood and fender edges to protect paint.
- Mark the existing hinge location on the hood and inner fender with a marker or tape to record alignment prior to removal.
- Apply penetrating oil to hinge fasteners if needed. Remove bolts securing the hood-to-hinge connection first, then unbolt the hinge from the fender or hinge mount.
- Remove the old hinge assembly and compare to the new part to confirm fit and orientation.
