A direct-fit replacement battery tray engineered for 1955-1956 Chevrolet Bel Air, One-Fifty and Two-Ten models. This heavy-gauge steel tray restores correct battery location and mounting, protecting the battery and sheetmetal from corrosion and movement. Built for durability and ease of installation, it reproduces OE fit and function to support restoration projects or routine replacements, providing reliable battery retention and reduced vibration for long-term performance.
Features:
  • Fits 1955-1956 Chevrolet Bel Air, One-Fifty and Two-Ten models.
  • Heavy-gauge steel construction for strength and long service life.
  • Powder-coated or corrosion-resistant finish to protect against rust and battery acid.
  • OE-correct dimensions and mounting holes for direct-fit installation using existing mounting points.
  • Secures and stabilizes the battery to reduce vibration and prevent terminal/hood damage.
  • Ideal for restorations and replacing corroded or missing original battery trays.
  • Easy bolt-in installation — minimal modification required.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Suggested Tools:
  • Socket set (common sizes such as 3/8" or 10mm)
  • Ratchet and extension
  • Open-end wrench set
  • Screwdriver
  • Wire brush or abrasive pad
  • Rust inhibitor or primer (optional)
  • Protective gloves and safety glasses
  • Battery support or strap (optional)
Instructions:
  1. Park vehicle on level ground, engage parking brake, and wear safety gear.
  2. Remove jewelry and disconnect the battery: always disconnect the negative terminal first, then the positive.
  3. Remove the battery hold-down hardware and lift the battery out of the tray (use a helper if battery is heavy).
  4. Unbolt and remove the old tray. Inspect mounting points and clean corrosion from the sheetmetal with a wire brush or abrasive pad.
  5. Treat cleaned surfaces with rust inhibitor or primer if desired; allow to dry per product directions.
  6. Position the replacement tray in the original location and align mounting holes with the factory studs or bolt locations.
  7. Secure the tray using the original hardware or supplied fasteners; tighten snugly but avoid over-torquing.
  8. Place the battery in the tray, attach the hold-down, and resecure battery terminals (connect positive first, then negative).
  9. Verify battery is firmly secured, check cable routing and clearances, then start the vehicle to confirm proper electrical connection.
  10. Re-check fasteners after a short test drive and retighten if necessary.
