A 12-piece rocker panel molding retainer screw set designed for 1962–1976 GM cars, this kit secures exterior rocker panel trim and restores factory appearance. Each fastener is made from corrosion-resistant plated steel for long life and consistent fitment, providing a reliable solution when replacing worn or missing screws during restoration or routine maintenance. Easy to install and sized to match original mounting points, the set helps prevent trim vibration and keeps molding aligned for a clean, finished look.
Features:
  • Fits 1962–1976 GM cars (rocker panel molding clip fastener replacement).
  • Includes 12 corrosion-resistant plated steel retainer screws sized for factory fit.
  • Secures rocker panel molding to prevent vibration and misalignment.
  • Ideal for restoration projects or replacing damaged/missing fasteners.
  • Easy to install with common hand tools; durable finish resists rust and wear.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 15-30 minutes
Suggested Tools:
  • Phillips screwdriver (matching screw head)
  • Flat-blade trim tool or panel clip remover
  • Wire brush or small brass brush
  • Penetrating oil (optional)
  • Anti-seize or medium-strength thread locker (optional)
Instructions:
  1. Park vehicle on level ground and ensure the rocker panel area is clean and dry.
  2. Carefully remove any remaining old screws or clips using a Phillips screwdriver and a trim tool to pry loose trim without damage.
  3. Clean mounting holes and mating surfaces with a wire brush; apply penetrating oil if screws are seized and allow to soak.
  4. Position the rocker panel molding in its original location, aligning factory holes.
  5. Insert each retainer screw by hand to start threads and ensure proper alignment; do not cross-thread.
  6. Tighten screws evenly with a Phillips screwdriver until snug—avoid over-tightening to prevent striping or deforming the molding.
  7. Apply a light coat of anti-seize to threads or a small amount of thread locker if desired for long-term security and corrosion protection.
  8. Inspect the molding for proper fit and even spacing along the rocker panel; make final adjustments as needed.
