This screw set provides the correct fasteners to secure the K-frame and starter splash shield on 1966–1974 Mopar vehicles. Designed as a direct replacement for worn, corroded, or missing hardware, the kit restores original fit and function so the splash shield stays properly aligned and protects the starter and underframe components from road grime and debris. Made from corrosion-resistant plated steel, the screws deliver long-lasting durability, reliable retention, and easy installation during routine maintenance or full restorations.
Features:
  • Fits 1966–1974 Mopar K-frame and starter splash shield applications (Chrysler/Dodge/Plymouth vehicles using the K-frame).
  • OEM-style, corrosion-resistant plated steel fasteners for long-term protection against rust.
  • Secures and aligns the starter splash shield to protect starter and underframe parts from road debris.
  • Ideal for restoration projects or routine maintenance to replace missing or damaged hardware.
  • Easy to install with basic hand tools and restores factory-fit appearance and function.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 15-30 minutes
Suggested Tools:
  • Floor jack and jack stands or vehicle lift
  • Ratchet and appropriate socket set
  • Phillips screwdriver or trim screwdriver
  • Penetrating oil (optional)
  • Work light or flashlight
Instructions:
  1. Park on a level surface, set the parking brake, and disconnect the negative battery cable if desired for safety.
  2. Raise the vehicle with a floor jack and support it securely on jack stands or use a vehicle lift; ensure stable support before working underneath.
  3. Locate the K-frame and starter splash shield beneath the engine and inspect existing fasteners; spray penetrating oil on any seized fasteners if necessary and remove them with the appropriate screwdriver or socket.
  4. Clean mating surfaces and remove any remaining rust or debris to ensure proper seat and alignment of the splash shield.
  5. Position the splash shield in place and insert the new screws from the kit, threading them by hand at first to avoid cross-threading.
  6. Tighten screws evenly using a ratchet or screwdriver until snug. Do not over-torque — tighten until the shield is secure and seated flat against the mounting surface.
  7. Lower the vehicle from the jack stands, remove tools, and perform a visual check to confirm the splash shield is properly secured and does not contact moving parts.
