Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 3/5
  • Estimated time: 1–2 hours per seat (2–4 hours for both), depending on experience
Suggested Tools:
  • Socket wrench set
  • Screwdrivers (Phillips and flathead)
  • Trim removal tools
  • Pliers
  • Hog ring pliers and hog rings or upholstery clips
  • Spray adhesive (contact adhesive rated for upholstery)
  • Marker or chalk
  • Work gloves and safety glasses
Instructions:
  1. Park vehicle on a level surface, set parking brake, and disconnect the negative battery terminal if seats have electrical connections.
  2. Remove the seat from the vehicle by unbolting the mounting bolts and carefully lifting the seat out.
  3. Place the seat on a protected work surface. Remove the seat cover/upholstery by releasing hog rings, clips, and fasteners; retain hardware if reusing.
  4. Detach the old foam from the seat pan or cover. Use pliers to remove hog rings and clean the seat pan of old adhesive or debris.
  5. Test-fit the new foam to the pan and upholstery. Mark alignment points with a marker or chalk for accurate placement.
  6. Apply spray adhesive to the seat pan and underside of the new foam following the adhesive manufacturer's instructions. Allow tack time as directed.
  7. Position the new foam onto the pan using alignment marks. Press firmly to ensure full contact and correct contouring.
  8. Reinstall the upholstery over the new foam. Secure with hog rings or clips, trimming excess material if necessary and ensuring smooth, wrinkle-free fit.
  9. Reinstall the seat in the vehicle, torque mounting bolts to factory specification, and reconnect any electrical connections.
  10. Verify fit and finish, check for secure attachment, and take a short test drive to confirm comfort and stability.
