Features:
  • Fits 1970-1972 Chevrolet Chevelle, El Camino, Buick Skylark, and Chevrolet Monte Carlo console openings.
  • OE-style fit and finish for accurate alignment and factory appearance.
  • Constructed from durable materials to resist wear, vibration, and everyday use.
  • Restores console function by providing a secure cover for storage and reducing interior noise.
  • Simple replacement ideal for restorations, cosmetic refreshes, or repairing worn or broken doors.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 30-60 minutes
Suggested Tools:
  • Phillips screwdriver
  • Flat-blade screwdriver or trim removal tool
  • Socket set (commonly 1/4" or 3/8" drive)
  • Clean cloth
  • Small flashlight
  • Lubricant (optional)
Instructions:
  1. Park vehicle on level ground, engage parking brake, and remove any items from the console storage area.
  2. Remove the console trim and access screws: pry away trim panels carefully with a trim tool or flat screwdriver to expose mounting fasteners.
  3. Unscrew and remove the fasteners holding the old console door or assembly. Keep hardware if reusing.
  4. Gently remove the old door assembly from the console, noting any clips, hinges, or alignment tabs for reference.
  5. Compare the new door to the old unit; transfer any reusable hardware or pieces as needed.
  6. Position the new console door into the opening, aligning tabs and hinge points carefully to ensure smooth operation.
  7. Fasten the new door with the supplied or original screws. Tighten evenly but avoid over-torquing to prevent damage.
  8. Reinstall trim panels and any removed hardware. Operate the door several times to confirm alignment and smooth motion.
  9. If binding or noise is present, loosen screws slightly, re-align, and retighten. Apply a small amount of lubricant to hinge points if needed.
