Armrest base clip retainer for 1962–1976 Mopar vehicles. This stamped clip secures the armrest base to the door panel, restoring original fit and preventing rattles or loosening over time. Designed as a direct-fit replacement for worn or missing retainers, it provides durable, corrosion-resistant fastening that helps maintain interior integrity during restoration or routine maintenance. Easy to install and built for long-term reliability, it’s an essential small part that makes a big difference in fit and finish.
Features:
  • Fitment: Compatible with 1962–1976 Mopar vehicles (Chrysler, Dodge, Plymouth era models).
  • Stamped steel construction with corrosion-resistant finish for long-lasting durability.
  • Secures the armrest base to the door panel to prevent movement and reduce vibration/noise.
  • Direct OE-style replacement for restoration projects and routine maintenance.
  • Simple, tool-friendly installation — no welding or specialty hardware required.
Installation / Application:
  • Difficulty: 2/5
  • Estimated time: 15 minutes
Suggested Tools:
  • Phillips screwdriver
  • Flathead screwdriver
  • Trim removal tool or panel tool
  • Needle-nose pliers
  • Cleaning cloth
Instructions:
  1. Carefully remove the armrest: locate and remove mounting screws or bolts using the appropriate screwdriver or socket.
  2. Gently pry the armrest away from the door panel if needed using a trim removal tool to avoid damaging the panel.
  3. Remove the old or broken clip from the armrest base or door panel. Use needle-nose pliers if the old clip is stuck.
  4. Clean the mounting area and remove any debris or rust to ensure a snug fit for the new clip.
  5. Align the new armrest base clip retainer with the mounting hole on the door panel or armrest base.
  6. Press or snap the clip into place until it seats securely. If required, use pliers to carefully crimp the clip without over-compressing it.
  7. Reposition the armrest and reinstall mounting screws or bolts. Tighten snugly but avoid over-tightening to prevent stripping or distortion.
  8. Check the armrest for secure attachment and eliminate any remaining play. Make minor adjustments if necessary.
